We’re now several months into the global CoVid pandemic, and it can take a toll on our mental health. And even as restrictions begin to loosen, the experts agree – one of the best things we can do for our mental health, is to help others. This summer, we’re organizing a variety of community projects to help others. Below are details on what we’re doing this summer.
JUNE 2020 – SHOE DRIVE
In the month of June, we’re doing a shoe drive! Chris and Natalie LeMay are adopting a child from China. To help cover the costs, we are collecting shoes. These shoes go to an organization that supports micro-businesses in developing nations. The shoes are given to people who can then clean and resell them. In exchange for the shoes, the LeMays receive funds to help cover their adoption costs.
You can bring any gently worn, used or new shoes to our June Large Gatherings. And please consider asking friends and neighbors to donate shoes as well! You can collect them from your friends and neighbors and bring them to a Large Gathering.
May 2020 Recap – In May, we sewed 100 cloth masks to support local organizations that serve people in need, including Family Promise, Love INC, One Heart Warriors and the HRDC. We’re still sewing and giving away masks if you’d like to help. – Click HERE for details on how to help.
July 2020 – Helping with Family Promise transitional housing, building yard libraries and doing a Book Drive for One Heart Warriors
August 2020 – Helping with Family Promise transitional housing, helping Chief Joseph Middle School with some playground projects, and unloading the Resource Room at the new Gallatin High School
These projects will all be led by different Home Groups. Folks are welcome to help with any of them! We’ll have details here about how to get involved, as well as at Home Groups and Large Gatherings.
